Hossein Fallahi, Master Painter, began his apprenticeship in miniature painting under the supervision of celebrated Master of Persian Miniatures, Ali Sajadi who was a noted student of Hajmossaver al-molk. Here he learned to paint in the Mongol, Safavid and Kajar style. In 1981 Hossein Fallahi began miniature work by himself and with the foundation of The Naghsh-e Jahan gallery in 1995 he began miniature painting accompanied by his fellow gallery members and his own students.

The miniatures are painted with brushes made of Persian cat's hair or pigeon's feathers and painted onto camel bone. The paints used are either minerals or plant based such as Azure, Turquoise, Colcothar, Indigo, Saffron, Henna or Alizarin. Subjects are based on Persian culture; such as poems by Omar Khayyam, Hafiz, Saadi, Firdowsi, Moulavi and traditional stories such as Shahnameh, Khosrow-Shirin and tales of HezaroyekShab (Shahrzad) or based on depictions of traditional tribal/clan life, polo playing, hunting or high-ranking people such as Dervishes, Shahrzad, Iranian Princes and poets.
