Pulley, Oribe Kiln, Meiji period c.1930Guillermina
The stoneware pulley is from Oribe, one of the oldest stoneware kilns. Oribe is known for its green glaze, from the blending of copper salt with feldspathic and wood ash glaze. This piece has some signs of wear, with losses on the edges.
This piece is sourced from Guillermina Emy LaFever, who is known for her unique, quirky art and furnishings with an Asian emphasis. She has traveled the world acquiring and merchandising her incredible collection for 35 years.
