UZBEK BOWLRustam and Damir Usmanov
Uzbek ceramics are known for their rich blue color, developed in the 14th to 16th centuries, which is said to represent pure waters and clear skies. In the small town of Rishtan, Uzbekistan, situated on the edge of the lush Fergana Valley, the art of hand-painted ceramics can be traced back to the 8th century. This bowl comes from the Rishtan workshop of master father-and-son painters Damir and Rustam Usmanov, where everything is hand-made using local clays and natural pigments, combining traditional forms with original shapes and motifs. Rustam Usmanov has been awarded the UNESCO Seal of Excellence for handcrafted products.
