When it comes to Indian classics, this trio of Spicewalla spices can't be beat. This North Indian collection is perfect for whipping up desi delights, but it's still equally at home in your favorite Latin or North African dishes.
Spicewalla is the latest venture from acclaimed restaurateur Meherwan Irani – a self-taught chef who has been nominated for five James Beard Awards. It is inspired by his childhood in India, when his family would make their own dhansak masala from fresh whole spices hand-picked from their own farmland, then roast and grind it themselves. Spicewalla's products, roasted and ground in-house to bring out the freshest flavors, come in tins designed to keep your spices fresh, just like in India. Tins are also refillable: buy your refills in compostable bags when you are running low.

Collection includes:
  • Roasted Cumin Powder (2 ounces). Potent, earthy, and smoky. If you've never had fresh roasted and ground cumin, prepare to have your mind blown. Great on grilled pork, essential to tacos and chili, and great in curries.

  • Turmeric (2 ounces). Earthy, bitter, and warming. The wonder powder du jour for good reason: flavor and anti-inflammatory health properties galore. India's favorite rhizome for millennia, try it with rice, yogurt dishes, and tonics.
  • Roasted Coriander Powder (1.2 ounces). Warm, citrusy, and nutty. Used around the world from Indian sambar and Egyptian dukkah, to sweet apple pie. If you've never had it fresh-roasted and freshly ground, prepare yourself for the next level of flavor.
