This Meiji period Japanese futon cover, a double ikat pattern in four panels, depicts Kumamoto Castle with the character for good fortune in the upper corners. Made circa 1890, it measures 66 x 48 inches. This piece is sourced from Guillermina Emy LaFever, who is known for her unique, quirky art and furnishings with an Asian emphasis.
